A small enclosed private garden situated on the edge of mature woodland.

A wonderfully aged backdrop in the form of old local sandstone walls and mature oak stands set this woodland edge scheme off beautifully. This characterful project required a complete transformation and overhaul of previously landscaped areas. In its place, we have designed openings under the canopy where light gently filters on to mixed borders, with highlights of Euphorbia palustris, Thalictrum ‘Black Stockings’ and Cenolophium denudatum creating an airy inflorescence to the early summer scheme. The addition of a number of small trees frame a focal seating area at the rear of the garden and anchor the garden within the shade of mature listed trees.
